50 Cars Given = 50 Families Transformed
Milestones for both Lillie & OnRamp DFW!
Every so often, a day comes along that stands apart from the rest. For Lillie, that day came on September 26th, 2025, when she received the keys to her beautiful Toyota Corolla. But, it wasn’t just a milestone for her! That morning was a moment of celebration for everyone at OnRamp DFW as Lillie’s car was our 50th vehicle to be given away!
Lillie came to us through Bella House, an incredible organization in Plano that helps care for new mothers and one that OnRamp DFW has been partnering with since we got started back in 2022 (they helped us find our 3rd & 4th clients!). Like all of our clients, Lillie’s journey to self-sufficiency began way before coming to us. Lillie has bravely fought for a better life for her and her son for the last 3 years. Having previously faced homelessness and lack of family support, Lillie was working multiple jobs just to get by.
People often use the phrase “I’m gonna drive this car until the wheels fall off.” But for Lillie that became a reality when one day after getting a car repair, a wheel on her previous car literally fell off while she was driving. This terrifying experience not only rattled her and her son, but ruined her vehicle. The result? No reliable way to get to work. No dependable way to keep her family afloat. Lillie’s only form of transportation for the next year and a half became Uber/Lyft, an option that costs hundreds of dollars a month and kept her and her son isolated.
Knowing how special this giveaway was, not only for Lillie but also for OnRamp DFW, we decided to throw a party! Balloons, Bows, Donuts, Coffee, and dozens of partners & donors. And while Lillie may not have had family there to support her, multiple women from Bella House came out to surprise her and celebrate with her. It was beautiful.
For Lillie, her new car represents hope, a supportive & loving community, and a means by which she can continue loving her son well. It’s not just a convenient way to get around town, it’s a lifeline to reach her personal, professional, and familial goals. It’s the way she can be connected to her church, her friends, and new opportunities.
When receiving the car, Lillie told us through tears, “Today, I feel so special.” Lillie, you are!
Likewise, for OnRamp DFW, this car represents hope, a supportive & loving community, and a means by which we can continue serving our neighbors with the love of Jesus. It’s not just another set of keys that we get to hand over, but it’s a tangible gift of grace that allows one more family to pursue thier goals. A way that we get to connect people to their places of worship, their friends, and the opportunities that they’ve been striving to pursue.

Every single car we have been able to giveaway affects not only the immediate recipient, but also their children, their places of work, and their communities. It lifts hours of burdensome travel off of hard working peoples shoulders. It relieves $100s of dollars a month from their budgets allowing them to save and invest more. It allows them to pursue better physical & mental health.
