It’s no secret that generosity from dozens of different individuals, churches, and organizations is what empowers OnRamp DFW to do what it does. From the faithful and consistent $25/month donation to the large $50,000 grant, everything that is given to OnRamp is another opportunity to bless a family in the DFW area with the gift of reliable transportation. These vehicles give families access to better jobs, health care, increased savings, and more time with their families & communities. But more than that, we’ve seen people gain access to opportunity, freedom, safety, stability, and dignity.
This year, OnRamp DFW is participating in North Texas Giving Day, an annual community-wide fundraiser supporting non-profits across North Texas. North Texas Giving Day is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation! Over 3,000 local non-profits join together to not only raise money for their organizations, but also stand together to highlight the variety of needs in our community.
Why participate in North Texas Giving Day?
OnRamp DFW already has a giving page on our site. So why participate in NTGD?
1) Community. We work directly with multiple local organizations and non-profits to identify and care for our clients. We call these partners “advocates” and they are who enable Onramp DFW to do impactful and on-going work. As we talked to our local partners, we realized that almost every single one of them have been participating in NTGD for years! On North Texas Giving Day, we want to stand with these organization and help people see both the need and the good that is being done in DFW.
2) Momentum & Need. As OnRamp DFW continues to grow in order to meet the need for reliable transportation in our community, so does the increased need for fundraising. Since 2022, OnRamp DFW has given away 48 reliable vehicles to individuals & families in need. As we quickly approach our 50th giveaway, the opportunity to help more families is right at our door. This year, we have set a NTGD goal of $12,000. This is the number that it takes to bless someone with a car. On average, $12,000 is our cost to purchase a reliable used vehicle + pre-giveaway repairs + 1 year of post-giveaway maintenance. As we approach the end of 2025, meeting this $12,000 goal helps us reach another family with reliable transportation..
3) A Generous Match. An anonymous donor has partnered with us for a $6,000 match! This means that every dollar donated for the first $6,000 given is doubled! Our $12,000 goal just got MUCH closer.
4) 100% of fees covered. This year, Communities Foundation of Texas, the organization behind North Texas Giving Day, is covering 100% of electronic donor fees that are normally incurred from giving online. That means 100% of every dollar donated to OnRamp DFW through NTGD goes to OnRamp DFW. Nothing to credit card companies. Nothing to the organization running NTGD. EVERYTHING to the people that we serve.
Lastly, we ask that you pray with us that we would be able to meet this goal. Help us make every penny that comes into OnRamp DFW be prayed over. That it is used with integrity, that it blesses a family in need, and ultimately that it would help bring people into saving faith in Jesus.
