Client 80: The Grace and Support to Start Over

Kesha is a single mom of four boys, ranging in age from 2 to 20. For her, building a stable life has never been just about what she wants for herself, but also about creating a better future for her children. However, getting to where she is today has taken a tremendous amount of work.

Kesha's advocate, Qiana from Metrocare, has known her for the past two years and has walked with her closely on her mental health journey. In her nomination, Qiana described Kesha as a very different person from the one she first met.

Through Metrocare's services, Kesha has made significant progress in improving her mental and emotional well-being and learning to care for herself in healthier ways.

“The person who stands in front of us today is not the person I met two years ago,” Qiana shared. “Kesha has done the hard work and remained resilient through all the setbacks and speed bumps that life has thrown at her.”

One of the things Kesha shared with us on giveaway day was that there came a point when she knew she had hit rock bottom mentally. She realized that, for the sake of herself and her boys, she had to make the decision to do the hard work of getting better. She wanted to be able to provide for her children, but she also wanted to learn how to love and care for herself.

On giveaway day, we were able to give Kesha a beautiful 2018 Rav4. When she saw it, she screamed in joy!

Today, Kesha is continuing to build a better life for herself and her family, and a reliable vehicle will give her another important tool to do that. With transportation, Kesha can pursue better employment opportunities, return to school, safely visit loved ones, and continue working toward greater stability for her family.

At OnRamp DFW, we believe stories like Kesha's point us toward something bigger than a vehicle. They remind us of the power of grace.

The gospel tells us that Jesus’ love is not something we earn by getting everything right the first time or by fixing ourselves all on our own. God meets us in our brokenness and offers us grace, restoration, and a new beginning.

Kesha, we are so proud of you! We pray that this car helps you and your boys reach all the goals you have ahead of you.
