Finding your voice and rebuilding your confidence can take time, especially after a season when you have felt powerless. For Jessica, it has meant rediscovering her strengths, recognizing what she is capable of, and beginning to pursue a future she once couldn’t have imagined!
When Jessica came to Emily's Place with her son, she was seeking safety and a chance to rebuild their lives. The team at Emily's Place saw her motivation, her willingness to accept guidance, and her determination to create a different future for her family. Her advocate, Kerry, watched Jessica grow in confidence and began to recognize what she was capable of accomplishing.
One of the clearest examples of that growth is Jessica's pursuit of schooling and a new career. While rebuilding her life and caring for her son, she completed Per Scholas' technology training program, graduating at the top of her class! She is now pursuing additional IT certifications with the goal of establishing a sustainable career.
Our clients are not defined by the challenges that bring them to us. Rather, Jessica's hard work and commitment to her future made her a strong fit for OnRamp DFW. We partner with people who are working hard, setting goals, and taking meaningful steps toward self-sufficiency, and Jessica has demonstrated all of that!
On the day of the giveaway, we were honored to give Jessica a beautiful, low milage Honda Civic. This car has some serious life left in it and will help her continue creating a stable future for her and her son. No more long walks down major roads. No more spending $30-$40 per ride on Uber just to get around town. Jessica can now get to where she needs to go safe & reliably.

Specific to this giveaway, we want to give a huge shout out to Credit Union of Texas, whose support and commitment to sharing OnRamp DFW's mission around the community has been incredible over the last year. Additionally, they helped connect us with Fairlease, a local car dealer and lender. Fairlease helped us find Jessica's Honda Civic and sold it to us at a reduced price in support of our work! Partners like this are invaluable to OnRamp DFW and we are grateful to both organizations for helping make this giveaway possible.
